I am mom to a great teenager and two crazy dogs. I cook, clean, do laundry, and sew the occasional button. I grocery shop, coupon, pay bills, and manage a budget. I fix things around the house and know my way around a toolbox (thanks, dad).
And I do all that while working a full-time job and selling Avon on the side.
I am busy.
There are a ton – and I do mean a TON – of blogs out there written by stay-at-home moms. And they’re great. I read several of them myself. But I don’t have 4 hours a day to devote to meal preparation, make my own bread from scratch, tend a garden, or weave fabric to make my own clothes. I barely have 4 minutes to put on make-up in the morning.
So, after having this general blog (my devotional blog is here) for several years and not knowing quite what to do with it, I have had an epiphany – thanks in part to my awesome new scanner and a desire to get rid of the piles of magazine articles I have accumulated, but never look at again once I clip them out. I am going to use this blog to share the tips and recipes I find helpful in streamlining my life and giving me more time for the important things – hanging out with my kid and God.
I’ll post recipes and pictures of quick, healthy meals. Most things I cook during the week take 30 minutes or less. Emphasis on the OR LESS. You can cook quick, nutritious meals inexpensively with a little – and I do mean a little – planning.
I’ll share tips and tricks for streamlining weeknight meal prep, cleaning, home improvement, and decorating. Some of the stuff will be original (probably posted on the weekends), other stuff will be links or reblogged from other sites I find helpful.
I hope that someone, somewhere can use these tips to help make their life a little less stressful and gain a little more time for the important things.
